The Pace of Coming Back

Weekend mornings at Bedok Reservoir again with Adrian. The familiar loop, the same calm water, the same stretch of open air that makes early mornings feel a little lighter.

The 4km+ route used to feel effortless. Lately, getting back into the rhythm takes more intention. Not difficult in a dramatic way. Just a reminder that consistency has its own quiet price when routines slip.

Still, there’s something grounding about showing up anyway. The pace adjusts, the body follows, and the walk becomes less about distance and more about returning to a habit that used to be second nature.

One step at a time, literally and otherwise.
