A Midweek Pause, At My Own Pace

Some evenings do not need to be rushed.

I wrapped up work at 5.30pm and instead of heading straight to dinner, I took a slow heritage walk from Asia Square, through Fullerton Hotel to the National Gallery. No agenda, just easing into the evening.

Dinner was a long overdue catch-up with my girlfriend (Adrian nickname her “Bigwatch”😄). Good company always makes everything better.

We had Korean BBQ and it was one of those meals where you could tell the quality immediately. The banchan set the tone (the Kimchi was surprisingly smooth, without the sharp acidic bite). We ordered a mix of beef, pork collar, prawns and kimchi stew.

The pork collar stood out - tender, soft, and just done right. The kimchi stew was comforting, the kind you naturally keep going back to.

Bur more than the food, it was the pace of the evening I enjoyed. No rushing, no pressure, just good conversation, good food, and a quiet walk to start it all.

Found out they have a lunch set menu too…… so I will be back, just maybe at a different pace next time.
