Different Starting Points
Yesterday's workout wasn't in a gym but from the streets of Singapore after a full day at work.
Adrian started his walk from his office at Aljunied while I began mine from Asia Square. We agreed to meet at Kallang MRT before continuing the rest of the journey together to Dorset Road. As we walked, I realised how similar this is to everyone's health journey.
We all begin from different starting points.
Some people have been active all their lives. Others are just beginning. Some are recovering from health setbacks, while others are trying to lose weight or simply become healthier. The starting point doesn't matter nearly as much as the decision to keep moving.
This weight loss journey has taught me that progress isn't made through occasional bursts of motivation. It's built through consistent habits — choosing to walk after work instead of heading straight home, choosing movement instead of another excuse.
Yesterday's walk wasn't about breaking records or burning the most calories. It was about showing up.
One walk won't change my life. But repeating these walks week after week, month after month — that's where the transformation happens.
Every journey starts somewhere.
Mine happened to begin at Asia Square yesterday.
Wherever yours begins, just take that first step.
The destination may seem far away, but every step brings you closer than standing still ever will.
