Best Walk Aren’t Always Fastest
There was nothing extraordinary about today’s walk on paper - 4.9km at a gentle pace over 1.5hrs. But that is exactly why it mattered.
Not every walk needs to be longer faster or harder. Sometimes the greatest achievement is simply lacing up your shoes and heading out before the world fully wakes up.
The morning sky painted itself with soft pastel colours while the purple flowers quietly brightened the roadside. Then came the highlight of my walk - mama hen confidently guiding her tiny chicks across the road. Watching the little family make their way safely across made me stop and smile.
Moments like these are easy to miss when we are rushing through life.
This weight-loss journey has taught me something beyond losing kilograms. It has taught me to slow down, notice the small things, and appreciate the journey instead of obsessing over the destination.
Every walk adds up.
Not because of the calories burned, but because every step is a promise I keep to myself.
Distance: 4.9km - Time: 1 hour 30mins - Pace: Gentle, unhurried.
Sometimes progress isn’t measured by how fast you move, but by the fact that you keep moving.
